In the past, the honeycomb is generally removed by the fire department with professional equipment after the power company power failure. But it's been a hot day recently, and a power outage can cause great trouble for nearby users. Because the weather is hot, hornet in the nest is very active, therefore the removal is urgent. Eventually, the electricity department decided to remove the hornet’s nest by live operations.
Therefore, the power supply company's transport and maintenance staff decided to use laser obstacle remover to remove the hornets. This is the first time that laser obstacle removal technology has been applied to power lines within Wuxi Power Grid. This equipment is composed of laser emission gun, operating platform and manipulator. Laser obstacle remover is composed of laser emission gun, operation platform and manipulator. It is understood that the effective range of laser obstacle remover used on power channel lines is 150 meters, which can comprehensively protect power lines from hanging objects and improve power grid power supply reliability. In general, once the distribution line encounters the floating object and needs power failure treatment, it will increase the number of unplanned shutdown of distribution line, directly lead to affecting the customer terminal power failure time, and affect the public's production and life electricity. With the "laser gun" device, the obstacle removal work can be completed in the live state, reducing customer power failure time.
